Assessment of Presidents and Chief Executives
Two Guides on assessing Presidents (CEOs, Executive Directors) of higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations are available online for use without charge by Governing Boards.
- “Sitting Beside:” Developmental Assessment of Presidents of Academic Institutions, A Guide
- “Sitting Beside:” Developmental Assessment of Chief Executives of Nonprofit Organizations, A Guide
“Sitting beside rather than standing over” is the guiding principle and approach used to assess a President or Chief Executive. Each guide includes a “cafeteria menu” of approximately 150 criteria that can be selected to assess a President or Chief Executive.
